Testimonials

"Meg was a massive help to my partner and I following the birth of our daughter in April 2020.

She was always on hand to provide us with advice on how to settle our daughter to sleep. Meg responded so quickly with tips and support on all aspects of looking after a newborn and nothing was too much trouble. She even went out of her way to visit us at home during lockdown to provide us with invaluable face to face advice from a safe distance, sitting in our garden.

Meg's kind, friendly and reassuring personality was exactly what we needed in moments of self doubt and desperation. Her professional knowledge is vast and her passion for helping babies, children and families is so evident. She will literally do anything she can to help you.

We couldn't recommend Meg anymore highly.

Thank you Meg!!"

"Having my first baby at 23, I was full of anxiety, worry and quite frankly clueless! Throughout my pregnancy Meg was always there to reassure and support me. She has the most calming, kind and nurturing approach, not to mention she’ll always put a smile back on your face when your hormonal emotions take over. My pregnancy and whole maternity experience wouldn’t have been the same without her support, she is a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion in all aspects of her work! What a fantastic woman!"

"I cannot recommend Meg enough. She came to help us after the birth of our second child and was absolutely invaluable. After going through a c-section with all the loss of independence that comes with it, Meg got me back on my feet.

She was one step ahead of my husband and I, thinking about everything that we might need at the time and in the coming days. From getting baby into a routine and helping plan feeds/pumping to the small things like producing a biscuit before you even realised you had needed one!

After having lots of difficulty establishing breast feeding with our first child, Meg was brilliant in helping us work out the best feeding regime for our family. Her experience with the techniques of breastfeeding helped us maintain it, as well as her open and supportive approach to bottle feeding when needed. Having spotted our daughter’s tongue-tie Meg was able to put us in contact with a lovely tongue-tie practitioner to have it cut. This made a noticeable difference to the latch and length of feed times. I really felt Meg listened to my breastfeeding story and used her depth of knowledge to try to make it work this time whilst also guiding us through mixed feeding/weaning off the breast/pumping options to help us make informed decisions without bias.

As a GP myself, I found it very reassuring that Meg was a midwife with 15 years experience. Not only was it interesting to talk about her work but it also meant her advice was evidence and experience based! She was able to discuss maternal postnatal health issues which you would not always find in a maternity nurse as well as being a trained medical professional with regards to baby’s health.

Aside from her depth of knowledge, Meg was also a breath of fresh air around the house. Not only did she spend time reading and playing with our toddler, she also sorted out baby clothes, cooked delicious meals and baked amazing flapjacks, cakes, cookies etc. Her warm and open personality meant that it never felt uncomfortable having a new person in the house. She felt part of the family, without a doubt."

Meg has provided brilliant support for us during the birth of our daughter and she has been an invaluable help during the first month of our daughter’s life. Meg fitted brilliantly into our family and we could trust her completely to provide first rate care to our daughter (and us). We also have dogs in the house and they quickly fell in love with her and she built a great relationship with them.

Meg has a great style of being kind, caring, knowledgable, empowering and intuitive and she provided me with tips, advice and helped me grow my confidence and feel reassured.

I would strongly recommend Meg to my friends and family. Thank you Meg for your excellent help, we will miss you!

As soon as we spoke to Meg we knew that she would fit into our family perfectly. Meg has a flexible and holistic approach to support and wellbeing which, with her midwifery background, makes her a very special maternity nurse. From the outset she listened and engaged with us carefully to understand our needs and advise us. We wanted help with breastfeeding, tongue tie identification, mother’s wellbeing and general family support. Our eldest 3 year old son befriended Meg immediately. We would have loved to have her for longer.

Magic Meg!

We enlisted her help at eight weeks when we were sleep deprived new parents hoping our daughter may be able to comfortably sleep elsewhere than the sling and longer than a couple of hours at night. In just the first few days Meg had us in a very gentle routine, sleeping in her crib and for much longer stints, our daughter immediately responded, we really couldn’t believe it!

She is such a jolly character to have around full of knowledge and with her midwifery background I felt in such experienced hands. By the end of the intermittent 10 days our girl is sleeping through the night and soundly naps in the days and two happy refreshed parents!

Thank you meg we are so grateful to have met you!

Matilda, Mum to Domino aged 8 weeks

"As a first time Mum and a single Mum, I honestly don’t know how I would have coped without Meg in the first four weeks after my daughter was born.

Meg is brilliant with babies and has so much advice and knowledge to impart. I was hindered by not being able to drive after a C-section so she accompanied me to all my check-ups, looked after baby while I recovered, gave me tips for feeding and getting baby to sleep as well as helping me source all the essential baby items in advance. It was great having someone I could turn to who had all the answers!

I couldn’t recommend Meg more highly, she is worth every penny as she works so diligently, and can see what needs to be done with baby or in the house and just gets on and does it – she’s so proactive, positive and lovely to have around.

Meg really lightened the load and supported me when I needed it most. She was a real source of strength and encouragement and she is someone I could trust and call a friend – I wish I could employ her permanently! She’s already sorely missed!

Jo, Mum to Alana, 10 weeks.

"I’ve been very lucky to have Meg as a maternity nurse for my son from his birth till he was 9 weeks old. I’ve interviewed quite a few candidates and Meg stood out significantly. Her warm and  nurturing personality I could feel immediately. I didn’t have any doubt she’s a right candidate for my son and obviously I want only the best for him.

Meg was very attentive and supportive throughout my pregnancy , helping with advise, and checking on my well-being. The moment I came from the hospital Meg was already waiting for us at home . From day one I felt confident in her and could leave my son in her hands without any worry as I knew he’s safe .

Meg is very knowledgeable when it comes to babies . On day 4 she diagnosed my baby with jaundice. We had a few pediatrician visits who said that my son is ok, but Meg insisted to have a blood test to be done and check the level of jaundice. And she was right, it was above the safe level, same day we were admitted to the hospital for a light therapy. Meg was constantly in touch with doctors on what’s up, l found it useful because she could always ask right questions thanks to her medical background. Meg also pointed on my son’s tongue tie, she managed  to find the best specialist in this field to have a procedure done. For 3 weeks after the procedure Meg was doing tongue stretching exercises for my son . She also recommended cranial osteopath for my son’s reflux. We had a few sessions which were very helpful.

Meg has  a great personality, she’s easy going and sweet, we had some great laugh together . All household members fallen in love with Meg and I am sure we will miss her. She would be definitely my number 1 choice if I have to recommend a maternity nurse to any of my friends. I would book Meg without any hesitation again."
