Practice Mindfulness
16th July 2020
Mindfulness is a simple form of meditation which can help to calm your mind and get through your day in a focused and stress free way.
It is proven that people who practice this form of meditation on a regular basis are better able to manage unruly and anxious thoughts.
It's a good idea to become friends with the mindfulness techniques during pregnancy as it not only helps prepare you for birth, but also gives you some great skills for coping with potential parenting stresses.
My Top Tip is not to feel you always have to 'do' mindfulness as that can feel like something else to add to your list of tasks! Try shifting your mindset to seeing it as something to be rather than do 🤷♀️ Try spending the minute it takes to boil the kettle, focusing on your breathing and you'll be surprised how effective this can be to help you feel calm and grounded.
There are several mindfulness Apps which offer a free one week trial, try Headspace, Calm or Insight Timer and see what you think.
